Now connected to I-71 and I-270, the city is less than 12 miles away from Port Columbus International Airport. Due to its proximity to these transportation hubs, Westerville's economy has seen rapid growth in recent years. Some of the area's largest employers include JP Morgan Chase, Mount Carmel Health, and the Westerville City School District. Along with these employers, the housing market has also grown. Numerous single-family homes are available, many of which have been recently built. An area known to be very family-friendly, the real estate market is geared toward building homes that can fit almost any family budget. In fact, many homes can be purchased for well under $200,000 and offer plenty of room for growing families.
When it comes to educational opportunities, Westerville is once again ranked near the top. The public school system, offering a number of magnet schools, is recognized as one of Ohio's best. And for residents seeking higher education, the city offers such options as Otterbein University, Fortis College, and Dominion University. As a community that has a long history of excellent educational facilities, Westerville is a popular destination for more and more families.
With the Westerville Town Center being home to many locally-owned stores and boutiques, there are many reasons why Westerville's popularity is growing by leaps and bounds. Whether it's riding a bike on the Ohio to Erie Trail that runs through the city or spending time at the Inniswood Botanical Garden, residents of Westerville have plenty of great choices for ways to spend their time.
